Also a bit of an adjustment on times at the Thistle. We'll now be there every Sunday from 2-7pm, rather than from 5-10pm. If you need to get in at another time, there's usually someone there everyday from 4-10pm, or give Liz or I a call and we can figure something out.

The Suspension of Disbelief Film Society is a non-profit new media art society with the goal of providing new and emerging talent with the validation, motivation, and support they need to keep moving forward with their work. The driving force behind the collective is to push the development and content of new media artists and filmmakers in Vancouver to a higher level while simultaneously forging a newer, stronger, larger and louder community of young and talented artists.
Why you need us/What do we actually do?
Meetings meetings meetings...
Everyone knows successful people need meetings. So we have lots of them. Why do you care? Because we're trying to help you get stuff done. We want you to make films (or other things). So what can we offer you?
1. Monthly meetings at with a group of interesting people who are pretty good at making films, where we discuss things such as what to do next, how to do it and who to do it with.
2. Monthly script development groups. Bring your script, or just come along for the ride. Help massage ideas into fully realized films.
3. Screenings/exhibitions/workshops/filmmaking! You want it to happen, we'll make it happen.
4. Equipment access... we're working on it. What we do have now is cheap access to an arri super 16 camera pkg and a VHS camera you can use for FREE.
5. Space... The Purple Thistle. It's not ours, but hey it's a space and it's free and they're pretty nice folks.
